Booking a Christmas party at the Ricoh Arena is set to be plain sailing after a team from the venue make their merry way down Coventry Canal.

The crew of four have launched from Coventry Canal Basin as part of a trip through Warwickshire and on into Tamworth to help promote the Rouge Christmas parties 2015 on December 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 and 20.

They are also booking meetings along the way and are welcoming potential clients aboard the barge to take advantage of discounted offers on the Christmas event.

Angela Perkins, head of sales at the Ricoh Arena, said: “The team took their first booking before they launched from Coventry Canal Basin, which was a fantastic start.

“As well as meeting potential customers and taking bookings, the whole journey has been about raising awareness of the Christmas parties on offer at the Ricoh Arena this December.

“We know that some may say it’s too early to be thinking about that but it comes around very quickly and, hopefully, by promoting it in this way it has added an element of fun by doing something a bit different.

“Rouge 2015 promises to be a really special way to celebrate the festive season with fellow colleagues and will build on our reputation for offering the glitziest Christmas parties in the region.”

The Gate Inn in Tamworth Road, Tamworth, is the next stop on the waterways tour for lunch on Wednesday at 1pm before the Rouge Cruise heads to Samuel Barlow at the Alvecote Marina, Robeys Lane, Alvecote, Tamworth, on Thursday (July 23).

The barge will head to the Greyhound Inn in Sutton Stop, Coventry, for its final destination for lunch on Friday (July 24) at 1pm.

The Ricoh Arena is running a competition on Twitter for guests to tweet photos of the barge in their area or from on-board with the chance to win a table for ten at Rouge 2015 by using the hashtag #RougeCruise.
