CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS SNOOKER RETURNS TO THE RICOH ARENA

Some of the world’s top snooker stars are returning to Coventry later this year.

Snooker's Champion of Champions returns to The Ricoh Arena for six days from Monday, November with tickets on sale from midday on Monday, April 18.

With the likes of defending champion Neil Robertson, Master and Welsh Open champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, and China Open winner Judd Trump all eligible to compete, the tournament is set to continue to build on its status as one of the sport's most exciting events.

The tournament breaks into action with a quartet of four-man groups, with one group played out on each of the first four days.

The group winners proceed to Friday's semi-finals before the final takes place over 19 frames and two sessions on Saturday, November 12. The draw and fixtures for the group stage will be announced in the autumn.

The Champion of Champions is in its fourth year and is being broadcast by ITV4 in the UK and on networks around the world. The tournament pits 16 tournament winners from the previous 12 months head-to-head for the prestigious title and the £100,000 winner's prize.

Should 16 unique winners not be found from the year’s 23 events, the highest placed players on the 2015-2016 season World Grand Prix Order of Merit who have not qualified for the Champion of Champions shall be invited to play in the tournament.

Andy Gibb, managing director of the Ricoh Arena, added: “This is fantastic news for the venue and local community.

“In addition to snooker, we have already confirmed rugby league and weight lifting for this year, which not only reinforces the Ricoh Arena as a multi-purpose sporting venue, it attracts a variety of sporting fans from all over the UK to Coventry.”

Tickets are on sale now from www.ricoharena.com and start from £5.50 as part of an early bird offer. Premium tickets are also available for all sessions with VIP Hospitality tickets on sale for the semi-finals and the final.
