Fat Man Scoop

Date: 29 May 2018

Fatman Scoop will join Sean Paul for his summer gig in Coventry, it has been revealed.

The American hip hop star joins BBC radio 1 DJ Charlie Sloth as Sean Paul’s special guests at his gig inside the Ricoh Arena’s Ericsson Indoor Arena on Sunday, 19 August.

Around 2,000 pre-sale and early bird tickets sold out in less than two hours this week, with general sale tickets on sale at 10am on Monday, 21 May.

Fatman Scoop is renowned for his hits Be Faithful and It Takes Scoop that swept through nightclubs around the world at the turn of the century.

Since then he has collaborated with artists such as Mariah Carey, David Guetta and B*Witched.

Dan Nelmes, director at Coventry-based Showtime Live who are promoting the concert, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed by the reaction we’ve had to this concert – Sean Paul has really captured people’s imaginations.

“Fatman Scoop is another iconic name from the same time period that Sean Paul brought out some of his best-known songs, so he is the perfect act to warm the crowd up and flex his lyrical talent alongside Charlie Sloth.

“We are working on adding a further name to complete the line-up, which will be revealed over the coming weeks.”

Justine Hewitt, head of operations at the Ricoh Arena, added: “Tickets have been selling in next to no time and we anticipate more of the same when tickets go on general sale on Monday, so if for any people thinking about coming to the concert, we’d urge them to act fast.”

Tickets for Sean Paul’s concert at the Ericsson Indoor Arena go on general sale at 10am on Monday, 21 May, priced at £30 plus a booking fee, and are available here.
