JAKE QUICKENDEN TO GIVE WASPS THE X FACTOR AT FIRST GAME AT RICOH

Wasps have today announced that Jake Quickenden will provide the pre-match entertainment at the Club’s first game at the Ricoh Arena on Sunday 21st December when they welcome Aviva Premiership Rugby rivals London Irish.

The singer – who appeared on The X Factor and finished runner up on the recent series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – will perform a selection of pop songs ahead of Wasps first game at their new home in Coventry. The reality TV star will be part of a bumper package of entertainment on the 21st December including fairground rides, musical acts, ice sculptures, a children’s activity area and Coventry’s very own Lady Godiva.

Demand for match tickets has been high for Wasps historic first game with a crowd in excess of 22,700 already expected at the Ricoh Arena. The all-time record for an Aviva Premiership Rugby home ground match is 24,000 set by Leicester Tigers at Welford Road.

“If you’d have told me three weeks ago that I’d be on stage at the Ricoh Arena in front of such a huge crowd I wouldn’t have believed you. It’s going to be such a fantastic day - I’m really excited to be part of this historic moment for the club.”
