Businesses preparing to plan their Christmas parties are being urged to hop aboard a cruise with a difference when it leaves Coventry’s Canal Basin next week.

The festive elves at the Ricoh Arena who are organising its Rouge Christmas parties 2015 on December 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19 and 20 have hired a barge to travel throughout Coventry, Warwickshire and Tamworth.

The Rouge Cruise will start with breakfast between 8am-10.30am on Monday (July 20) before leaving the Canal Basin.

Businesses interested in holding their Christmas parties in the Jaguar Hall can find out more about the festive food and entertainment on offer at the Ricoh Arena when the barge stops off at the Kings Head in Old Watling Street, Atherstone, on Tuesday (July 21) when lunch will be served at 1pm.

The Gate Inn in Tamworth Road, Tamworth, is the next stop on the waterways tour for lunch the following day at 1pm before the Rouge Cruise heads to Samuel Barlow at the Alvecote Marina, Robeys Lane, Alvecote, Tamworth, next Thursday (July 23) for lunch at 1pm.

The barge will head to the Greyhound Inn in Sutton Stop, Coventry, for its final destination for lunch next Friday (July 24) at 1pm.

Angela Perkins, head of sales at the Ricoh Arena, said the Rouge Cruise was a fun way to meet businesses starting to plan their Christmas parties.

“2014 produced our highest ever number of Christmas party bookings since we had 7,632 people celebrating the festive season with their colleagues and friends at the Ricoh Arena,” she said.

“Our combination of fantastic entertainment, top-class food, fairground rides and friendly service will once again be provided in this year’s themed parties when we transform the Jaguar Hall into the vibrancy of a Parisian Rouge theme.

“Christmas is all about having fun and thanking staff for their hard work over the last 12 months and this is the time of year when businesses start to think about planning their Christmas parties.

“We thought it would be a great idea to hire a barge to invite our clients and businesses planning their Christmas parties to jump aboard and hear all about the fantastic nights of glitter and glamour we have arranged as part of Rouge 2015.

“It will be a chance to pick up our brochure, meet the sales team at the various stop-off points that we have organised the length and breadth of our area’s canals and it is the final opportunity to book your Christmas party at a discounted rate.

“We’re launching the week-long activity with breakfast on the barge at the Canal Basin in Coventry before spending the week at various pubs which have moorings and getting people in the mood for Christmas!”

The Ricoh Arena will also be running a competition on Twitter for guests to tweet photos of the barge in their area or from on-board with the chance to win a table for ten at Rouge 2015 by using the hashtag #RougeCruise.
