Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2019 - Nominations Announcement!

Date: 23 Apr 2019

Wasps are in contention to land national silverware this summer at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

The Ricoh Arena outfit have been nominated for the Visiting Rugby Directors Award at the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2019, which takes place on Thursday 20 June.

The Visiting Rugby Directors Award is voted for by Directors at each Gallagher Premiership club where they are asked to nominate the club where they had the best away experience when travelling with their team, taking into account the welcome, service and catering as well as other aspects.

Wasps will be among more than 450 guests from across 50 rugby and football clubs at the awards ceremony, and will be looking to add to last year’s award wins at the National Venue Awards and Exhibition News Awards.

Stuart Cain, Managing Director at Wasps and Ricoh Arena, said: “For Wasps to be recognised by its peers makes this recognition extra special for all of the Club’s staff, who pride themselves on providing a warm welcome and unforgettable experience for every person who comes through our doors on a matchday.

“It’s also further vindication of our efforts to make Ricoh Arena a first-class venue for live events by working with our partners to provide great experiences such as the Heineken Lounge overlooking the pitch and providing super-fast Wi-Fi that is free of charge as well as hosting one of the biggest LED screens in UK stadia.

“We have a bumper June lined up at Ricoh Arena with the Spice Girls, Monster Jam and Bon Jovi all performing at the venue, and winning an award of this prestigious nature would really be the icing on the cake.”
