A pair of boxing legends will complete a long-awaited trilogy of matchups when they go head-to-head in Coventry in November - this time letting their words – not their fists – do the talking.
Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank will be looking to settle the score when they revisit their infamous ‘90s feud in a special live event at Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday, November 6 as part of a nationwide tour.
The old adversaries will reflect on their two fights which captivated the nation in 1990 and 1993, giving boxing enthusiasts and casual fans alike unrivalled insight into one of British boxing’s biggest feuds and the men behind it.
Benn won his first 22 competitive fights by knockout, eventually losing out to Michael Watson, before an up-and-coming Eubank called him out.
Their first bout, taking place at the NEC in Birmingham in 1990, saw Eubank claim the WBO middleweight title from Benn in a brutal, instant classic.
The rematch, which drew an estimated 16.5 million viewers on ITV and ended in a controversial draw, saw the two fierce rivals attempt to unify the WBO and WBC super-middleweight belts in what is widely regarded as one of the greatest ever British boxing matches.
Paul Michael, Commercial Director at Coventry Building Society Arena said: “We are delighted to announce that two sides of British boxings biggest rivalries will be putting on a captivating show at Coventry Building Society Arena in November.
“Benn vs Eubank 3 has been in the making for almost 30 years, ever since their draw in 1993, so to have the pair of them in same room on our doorstep is very exciting prospect, even if they won’t be looking to knock each other out.
“Their bitter feud has subsided over the years but I’m sure there will be plenty of sparks flying as the two reflect on the golden age of British boxing and their lives behind the scenes either side of their two classic fights.”
Three tiers of tickets are available for An Evening with Benn and Eubank, with the ‘VVIP’ option including front of house seats, access to a memorabilia auction, a photo opportunity with Chris and Nigel, and a glove signed by the pair.
