SPATEX is the UK’s only dedicated pool and spa show. For 27 years the show has showcased the latest and most advanced innovations in the water leisure industry.
It has been held at Coventry Building Society Arena for nine consecutive years, attracting more than 100 exhibitors and 1,400 visitors across two days to the main exhibition hall each year.
Michelle Bridle, organiser of SPATEX, says that location, the experience of staff and world-class facilities have meant that the event has remained at the venue for almost a decade.
She said: “We choose the Arena as it is a purpose-built exhibition venue, centrally located for all parts of the country, with easy direct access. There is ample free parking on-site for exhibitors and visitors which makes it very convenient.
“As a modern exhibition venue, with all-round excellent facilities, following the recent upgrades, the venue is world class.
“The staff at the venue make it a very positive experience. From the security on arrival, all the way to the heads of the various departments, all have always gone the extra mile to ensure our event runs smoothly, which has given much confidence to the SPATEX Team.
“Having the parking on-site, so close to the entrance to the exhibition hall, is fantastic for exhibitors and visitors alike. The unloading and loading for exhibitor products couldn’t be easier, overseen by the Arena’s very experienced staff.
“Very few venues offer such a smooth exhibiting experience which in turn relates to repeat bookings for us! Having the casino, the newly built Anecdote Sports Bar and a hotel on-site is an added advantage to allow for the very important after show networking experience. We look forward to the second on-site hotel being open in the near future.”

Coventry Building Society Arena hosted two shows organised by Beauty Exhibitions Ltd in 2021 – with ‘Look Good Live’ and ‘Beauty UK, Holistic Health and Hair UK’ both taking place at the venue.
Look Good Live takes place across Black Friday weekend and is the ultimate shopping day out for beauty, hair, fitness, home style, aesthetics and wellness products. BeautyUK takes place in June and is the nation’s premier beauty trade event.
Both shows attract thousands of visitors from across the country and are organised by Gary Hackett, Managing Director of Beauty Exhibitions.
Gary says that the modern facilities, value for money and range of facilities on site are some of the reasons why Beauty Exhibitions has brought the two events to Coventry Building Society Arena in the last 12 months.
“Coventry Building Society Arena is a modern, attractive venue. We choose the venue as it has a great central location, good accessibility and provides a value for money experience.
“We like the fact that everything is available on site and a short distance from each other, from the exhibition hall to the hotel.

For 17 years, Coventry Building Society Arena has been home to the National Painting and Decorating Show. It was one of the first shows to ever be held at the venue and has been a flagship trade show for the Arena since 2006.
Coventry Building Society Arena has supported the continued growth of the exhibition, with a steady increase in visitor numbers each year seeing the show expand into larger space at the venue.
It now attracts more than 3,500 industry visitors and over 100 exhibitors from across the globe, and has become the biggest annual trade show for professionals in the painting and decorating industry.
Terry Dullaway, event organiser for the show, says the event has continued to reach new heights every year since being held at Coventry Building Society Arena and a major reason for that is the strong partnership between venue and organiser.
“The National Painting and Decorating Show was one of the events to take place at the Arena in 2006 and since then it has gone from strength-to-strength – culminating in recording our best ever attendance in 2021.
“We began by occupying part of hall one, and now we have grown to fill both hall one and hall two.
“Apart from its strategic location for events that wish to attract a nationwide audience, the venue also boasts excellent on-site facilities including a hotel, sports bar, restaurants and a casino, making it a trouble-free and more enjoyable experience for exhibitors and visitors alike.
“Another major reason for our longevity at the Arena is the relationship we enjoy with the event management. Pre-planning and build-up arrangements are complex and often stressful elements for all concerned, but the Arena management really does make it feel like a partnership, with any issues being resolved with an efficient, empathetic approach.”
