Doing Our Part for a Greener Future

Welcome to the sustainability page for Coventry Building Society Arena, where our commitment to a greener future is at the forefront of our operations.

Beyond just being a world-class venue for sports and entertainment, the Coventry Building Society Arena recognizes the crucial role it plays in setting sustainable standards for large-scale venues.

Our dedication to eco-friendly practices is reflected in our infrastructure, partnerships, and community engagements. We believe that through collaborative efforts and a shared sense of responsibility, we can create lasting impacts that benefit not just our immediate surroundings, but the world at large.

"At Coventry Building Society Arena, we're deeply committed to shaping a sustainable future for our community. Every decision we make is grounded in environmental responsibility and lasting impact."

Also, to further cut down on plastic, we're switching to bottled condiments instead of single-use sachets.

We're proud to associate with Fairfield's, our new crisp supplier. Fairfield's are fourth-generation farmers who embody sustainability in their business practices. Check out their sustainability practices here.

As part of our energy-saving initiative, we are promoting the practice of switching off non-essential equipment when not in use. Moreover, you will see more signage informing about our sustainability efforts throughout the venue.

Sustainable Packaging & waste

Our waste management is overseen by Tom White, a Coventry-based company with a strong focus on sustainability. Their operations are geared towards achieving zero waste to landfill and reaching net-zero emissions, helping to minimise environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.

This commitment to sustainability also extends to our suppliers. Across the site, 95% of lighting has been upgraded to energy-efficient LED solutions. In the concourse alone, annual energy consumption has been reduced from 410,403 kWh to 141,624 kWh. This has led to a significant carbon saving, lowering emissions from 101 tonnes per year to 35 tonnes.

We also work with local suppliers who share our environmental values. Purple Planet Packaging, located less than five miles from the arena, supplies sustainable food and drink packaging to a range of industries, including the leisure and hospitality sector.

Sustainable Supply Chain

We are taking local sourcing to the next level. Part of our boardroom menu will be sourced from within a 15-mile radius of the venue. We'll be proud to share their story and promote them on our social media.

Our commitment extends to our suppliers. We are collating sustainability data from all core suppliers to make sure they're walking the green walk too. We're also consolidating deliveries to reduce CO2 emissions from unnecessary transport.
