Delivering showstopping sustainable events at Coventry Building Society Arena

A world-class exhibition, event and conference centre in the heart of the Midlands will be showcasing how it helps event organisers to leave a positive social and environmental impact at The Meetings Show.

Coventry Building Society Arena, a nationally renowned centre for business events, will be on Stand D64 at The Meetings Show this year and it will be the first time the venue has exhibited at the event since the introduction of its new identity and mantra – ‘The Best Times Are Here’.

The Arena has made significant strides and embarked a programme of investment since it was brought under new ownership two years ago.

Over the last 18 months, the Coventry venue has placed a significant emphasis on the introduction of a venue-wide sustainability strategy, which has ranged from the introduction of new suppliers to innovative initiatives to help conference and event organisers to leave a lasting positive impact.

The venue team will be spotlighting its newly launched ‘Green DDR’ at The Meetings Show. The day delegate rate for corporate events includes a 50p charge which will mean that for each delegate, a tree will be planted in conjunction with sustainability partner Skoot.

Coventry Building Society Arena is also in the process of rolling out ‘The Final Course’, an initiative in partnership with Coventry and Warwickshire Local Visitor Economy Partnership (LVEP), which enables delegates to discreetly and easily donate to a local foodbank as part of their dining experience.

Over the past year improvements have been made throughout the venue, including upgrades to the pillar-free exhibition halls and meetings rooms, while its state-of-the-art £7.5 million Commonwealth Convention Centre is fully operational.

The venue has 20,000 sqm of flexible event space and is in the heart of the country, with 75 per cent of the UK population within a two-hour drive of the venue and 2,200 on-site car parking spaces.

Its enviable location makes it ideal to maximise audience reach, for national and international attendees, with Birmingham Airport 20 minutes away and London Euston only an hour by train.

Coventry Building Society Arena includes a full-integrated 121-bedroom Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, an on-site casino, sports bar, brasserie and coffee shop.

Jenni Ford, Paula Young, Josh Brown and Nathan Bunn will be representing Coventry Building Society Arena at The Meetings Show on Stand D64 at the ExCel on 19 and 20 June.

The venue has had a stand freshly designed for the show to showcase its new brand identity and track record for hosting unforgettable events and experiences.

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We’re excited to be returning to The Meetings Show this year with a new look, refreshed offer and exciting sustainability proposition for delegates.

“Earlier this year we launched ‘The Best Times Are Here’ and that is because we are confident that we host the best meetings, exhibitions, conferences and events. We have a near 20-year track record to prove that and we are continually investing to improve our offer.

“We’ve had another brilliant year and the venue continues to go from strength-to-strength since our acquisition two years ago.

“We’re looking forward to catching up with old contacts and meeting new friends at The Meetings Show. It’s going to be a great event, so come along and meet the team on Stand D64.”
