The Carpenters Experience will be taking to the stage in the auditorium at Coventry Building Society Arena

Carpenters fans will be on ‘Top Of The World’ when the UK’s leading tribute to the iconic duo comes to Coventry.

The Carpenters Experience will be taking to the stage in the auditorium at Coventry Building Society Arena on Saturday 19 October – following a string of sell-out shows across the country.

Featuring the voice of Maggie Nestor and eight top-class musicians, the show captures the essence of the Carpenters, bringing back the sounds of Richard and Karen Carpenter to the live stage.

The show is now in its seventh year and sees Maggie as Karen and Coventry’s own Jason Forrester as Richard.

With a full live band, including brass and piano, the pair deliver seamless harmonies to recreate the experience fans would have had seeing the Carpenters live throughout the 1970s.

Fans can expect to hear songs including Close To You, We’ve Only Just Begun, Top of the World, Rainy Days and Mondays, Solitaire, Goodbye to Love, Please Mr Postman, For All We Know, Only Yesterday and many more classic tracks on the stage.

Over the course of their 15-year career the Carpenters recorded 15 albums and the duo have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

It is the first time that the show has come to Coventry and is part of the continued expansion of the live entertainment offering in the auditorium at Coventry Building Society Arena.

Mick Mason, who founded the tribute act in 2015, said it’s exciting after seven years to be bringing the show to Coventry.

“We’re really looking forward to the show at Coventry Building Society Arena in October and having the chance to celebrate the Carpenters with the people of Coventry,” said Mick.

“It’s an immersive show which will take fans right back to the heights of Richard and Karen Carpenter’s career. These songs are 50 years old now but they are timeless and still resonate with people all around the world.

“There are six costume changes throughout, a live band and the incredibly talented Maggie Nestor who is one of only a few people who can come close to Karen’s silky contralto.

“We get the crowd involved in every song and encourage them to sing along, it’s a celebration of the Carpenters which really does make it feel like it’s Yesterday Once More.”

Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “This is a must-see show for any Carpenters fans and we’re expecting a full auditorium on the evening.”

Doors will open at 6.30pm on Saturday 19 October. Tickets are £28.50 plus booking fees and now available from www.eticketing.co.uk/cbsarena
