Insomnia Gaming Festival INSOMNIA RETURNS TO THE RICOH ARENA

INSOMNIA53 GAMING FESTIVAL

The UK’s largest gaming festival which will be staged at the Ricoh Arena later this month is already a sell-out.

Gamers will be travelling far and wide to attend Insomnia53 between Friday, November 21 and Monday, November 24.

Organisers Multiplay will once again take over the Jaguar Exhibition Hall, E.ON Lounge, Halls 3-5, the Legends Lounge and atrium with its mix of tournaments, gaming exhibition, panel talks, meet and greet sessions and special guests at the Winter Gaming Festival.

YouTube stars Sky Does Minecraft, AntVenom and TheDiamondMinecraft will be appearing along with KSI, W2S and Gizzy Gazza and a host of other special guests.

There will also be Minecraft, Indie, Retro and Tabletop Gaming Zones, the latest games and merchandise, as well as the Console Esports Arena featuring Call of Duty Advanced Walfare and Halo2 Anniversary tournaments on Xbox ONE and LAN gaming halls.

Craig Fletcher, chief executive officer and founder of Multiplay, said this was the third Insomnia to take place at the Ricoh Arena.

“Following the success of Insomnia52 at the Ricoh Arena this summer, we’ve been hard at work planning yet another great festival for thousands of attendees,” he said.

“We put together a variety of different elements to appeal to a wider audience, which is what makes Insomnia Gaming Festivals unique to other events and the feedback so far has been fantastic.

“Insomnia53 will also see the return of our annual Insomnia Community Awards on Saturday night, which will be followed by the legendary pub quiz where over 1,000 people will be testing their gaming trivia knowledge.

“We are really looking forward to Insomnia53 at the Ricoh Arena which is set to be our biggest winter event to date! It has been an exceptional year and we are thrilled with how Insomnia has grown in the last 12 months.”

Justine Hewitt, stadium manager at the Ricoh Arena, said there was certain to be another four days of frenzied gaming activity.

“The popularity of the Insomnia Festivals organised by Multiplay is reflected in the fact we had 30,000 visitors to their festival in August when gamers travelled from Australia and America to be involved,” she said.

“We are again expecting gamers from all corners of the globe to come along to meet fellow fans and join in the fun.

“Each day is packed with activities to enjoy whether you are an experienced gamer or are relatively new to video games, and I am sure it will be another memorable event.”
