Kidz to Adultz

A nationwide exhibition that helps people with disabilities and health and social care professionals is set for its biggest ever Midlands event during the organiser’s 120th birthday.

Kidz to Adultz Middle is a free exhibition of equipment, products and services for children and young adults and their carers, and is organised by charity Disabled Living.

The charity is celebrating 120 years of providing services to children, adults and older people with disabilities and additional needs.

Around 100 exhibitors have registered and more than 2,500 visitors are expected for this year’s show, which is being held in the Ericsson Exhibition Hall on Thursday, March 16, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Exhibitors at the event will provide information on the latest equipment, products and services alongside information about alternative funding streams.

The exhibition will also give health and social care professionals an opportunity to boost their Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolios by attending free seminars. This year’s schedule will cover topics such as moving and handling, sleep issues, behaviour and sensory processing.

An activity area will also be available, giving young people a chance to try out activities such as wheelchair basketball and wheelchair dance.

Carmel Hourigan, senior manager at Disabled Living, said: “It’s fitting that in our 120th anniversary we are staging our biggest ever Midlands event, which has grown gradually over the years due to its success and popularity.

“The exhibition provides a brilliant opportunity for our visitors to see the latest equipment available and seek advice on issues affecting their day-to-day life.

“The types of exhibitors we have covers everything from wheelchairs and toys through to physical activity programmes and continence care products.

“The Ricoh Arena is perfect for Kidz to Adultz events, the access is fantastic and we are able to offer free parking for all of our visitors to the event.”

Disabled Living have also organised Kidz to Adultz exhibitions in Reading, Manchester and Edinburgh throughout the year. The Midlands event is now in its eighth year at the Ricoh Arena.

All visitors to the exhibition will also be entered into a free prize draw, with prizes including a family ticket to Conkers, skating passes at Planet Ice and family tickets to the National Space Centre – with many more prizes up for grabs.
