SIGALA WITH A SURPIRSE UP HIS SLEEVE!

SIGALA BRINGING SPECIAL GUESTS TO MTV CRASHES COVENTRY!

Chart-topping music artist Sigala says he has a surprise up his sleeve for his performance at MTV Crashes Coventry later this month.

The 23-year-old British record producer, who shot to fame in September last year with his number one debut single Easy Love, will be arriving at the Ricoh Arena on Friday, May 27, to perform his latest material, including new single Give Me Your Love.

Speaking from Sydney as he concluded a three week tour across Dubai, Indonesia and Australia, Sigala – real name Bruce Fielder – said that playing at an arena will be a new experience for him.

“I’m used to playing to club crowds of around 2,000 people, so this is definitely the biggest gig that I have played so far and I’m really excited,” said Sigala.

“I am going to have some special guests down to perform with me but I don’t want to drop any names, it will be more than just a normal DJ set from me.”

Since Sigala’s music hit the mainstream airwaves last year, his songs have captured the nation’s imagination. His number one single Easy Love was followed by Sweet Lovin’ and Say You Do which made it to number three and number five respectively in the UK Official Singles Chart.

His latest single with John Newman, called Give Me Your Love, is also set to follow in the footsteps of his previous top ten hits when it is released in June, and will be played live to the Coventry crowd.

When asked about his meteoric rise in the music charts, he explained: “I just try and bring along positive vibes. All of my tracks are upbeat, happy, summery tunes so that’s what I try to get across during my live shows as well.

“I don’t really enjoy listening to sad music, I think it should be there to make you feel better if you’re feeling a bit down in the dumps, so maybe that’s why people are listening to my songs and radio stations are playing them.

“Every writing session or how I start a track is different. The only thing that’s the same is that it’s usually based around the piano, which I’ve been playing since I was really young and from my time in bands.”

Sigala will be joining a host of other big-name artists on day one of MTV Crashes Coventry, including Kaiser Chiefs, Tom Odell, Chase & Status and Fleur East, and he intends to make the most of his opportunity.

“The other great thing about doing this show is I’ll get to meet other artists that I listen to on the radio all the time, and you never know, if we really get on a writing session could come out of it to create a new music collaboration.”

Individual day tickets are priced at £10, and can be purchased by www.ricoharena.com
