Thousands of 90s music revellers rolled back the years with some of the decade’s iconic music stars

Thousands of 90s music revellers rolled back the years with some of the decade’s iconic music stars at the Ricoh Arena last weekend.

Around 8,000 people packed into the Ricoh Arena’s Ericsson Indoor Arena to see artists such as Peter Andre, B*Witched and S Club deliver anthems that have stood the test of time.

East 17 got proceedings underway and treated the crowd to their UK number one single Stay Another Day, before Blazin’ Squad burst onto the scene to lead a rendition of their hit singles Crossroads and Flip Reverse.

With the party in full swing, 911 followed proceedings with numbers such as Bodyshakin’ and Night To Remember.

Music fans were also given a tag team performance from dance group Booty Luv and hip hop performers Big Brovaz before the atmosphere ramped up a notch with back-to-back performances from S Club, 5ive and Vengaboys.

Iconic songs such as S Club Party, Keep On Movin’, and We like to Party! reverberated around the Ericsson Indoor Arena as generations came together to remember the 90s era.

The crowd was spared a brief interval before 90s Irish icons B*witched took to the stage to rapturous applause as the band belted out hits such as C’est La Vie and Blame It On The Weatherman.

Peter Andre, full of boundless energy, brought the curtain down on a memorable night with timeless classics such as Mysterious Girl, Flava and Insania.

Justine Hewitt, Head of Operations at the Ricoh Arena, said: “This was a night where different generations came together to enjoy one of the best decades of music.

“The Ericsson Indoor Arena’s ability to stage concerts such as this further strengthens the Ricoh Arena as one of the most flexible music destinations in the country – over the past year we’ve hosted a Stepback 80s concert, a Sean Paul gig, a Stepback 90s concert and have another Stepback 80s concert planned later this year, all of which complements the summer stadium bowl concerts that we host.

“Our attention now turns towards the Stepback! 80s Christmas Concert on December 22 which, if the previous Stepback 80s concert is anything to go, is set to be a real Christmas cracker.”

Tickets for the Stepback! 80s Christmas Concert at the Ericsson Indoor Arena can be purchased by visiting www.stepbackconcerts.co.uk and www.ricoharena.com.
