Every pint counts! Coventry Building Society Arena teams up with SkootEco for sustainability
Coventry Building Society Arena has partnered with SkootEco to launch a groundbreaking initiative that blends football, sustainability, and fan engagement.
Launched this season at the Coventry Building Society Arena, an extra 5p is taken from every pint sold at matches (on the concourse retail area), which contributes directly to efforts to remove plastic waste and make strides toward a greener future in sport. From the pints drunk, and money donated, SkootEco plants one Mangrove tree, removes two ocean bound plastic bottles and buddies each tree with 6kg of a high integrity humanitarian carbon project - which is enough to counter the approximate carbon emissions of 12 pints of beer.
This initiative is part of a broader collaboration with SkootEco, offering fans and visitors the chance to make a tangible environmental impact. Additional features include:
Tree planting: fans can scan and plant trees to offset carbon emissions when parking on match days
Green delegate rates: sustainable options for conference attendees at the stadium
Mark Stringer, Co-founder and CMO of SkootEco commented:
“At SkootEco, we’re thrilled to be working with Coventry Building Society Arena and on this game-changing initiative. Every pint really does count when it comes to making a positive impact and we’re not only helping to remove plastic waste but also planting trees and supporting renewable carbon projects. It’s a powerful example of how small, collective actions can lead to big environmental wins. Together, we’re proving that whether it’s enjoying a matchday pint or parking at the stadium, every choice can make a difference.”
Paul Michael, Managing Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, added:
“Over the last 12 months our partnership with SkootEco has gone from strength to strength. The partnership is at the heart of the venue-wide sustainability strategy which underpins everything we do at the Arena. This latest eco-friendly initiative is a fantastic way for football fans to get involved in our sustainability journey. By working in collaboration and making small but meaningful changes, we can take great strides towards a greener future.”
This partnership highlights the Arena’s commitment to sustainability, showing that even the simple act of enjoying a pint can make a difference. SkootEco, a positive impact ESG consultancy, is dedicated to environmental sustainability, helping businesses further their commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
