The Big Zero Show returns to Coventry Building Society Arena
Businesses seeking to cut their emissions and individuals targeting careers in the low-carbon economy will be benefitted by the expansion of a national conference and exhibition in Coventry.
The Big Zero Show is expanding to a two-day event and will be held at Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday 2 and Wednesday 3 July.
The event, now in its third year, has added a second day which will focus on skills, career opportunities and the jobs of the future in the low-carbon economy.
This builds on a successful first two years for the The Big Zero Show, which last year attracted 1,500 delegates.
The first day of the event on Tuesday 2 July will again provide support major companies, SMES and public sector organisations on the path to net zero.
It will showcase innovation, technology, provide valuable peer-to-peer networking and the opportunity to hear from sector-leading keynote speakers as businesses assess whether they are on track to being net zero and how to overcome any barriers they face.
There will be 40 Net Zero Index presentations, highlighting solutions which will benefit businesses on the path to net Zero, and then a series of TED-talk style lectures with panels discussing key topics such as policy, technology, business strategy and finance.
The second day at The Big Zero Show on Wednesday 3 July will be focused on skills and the jobs of the future, with a call out for young people, graduates and people looking to reskill to attend.
Employers will be highlighting opportunities in a fast-evolving industry, support to develop employability skills and stories will be showcased from people currently working in the low-carbon economy.
The event is organised by future Net Zero in partnership with Coventry City Council and Energy UK.
Sumit Bose, founder of future Net Zero, says that now is the time for businesses to act on emission and that the show has expanded as its crucial organisations have the skills to support their low carbon plans in the future.
He said: “We’re excited to be expanding The Big Zero Show so we aren’t only providing guidance to businesses but also people that will make up the crucially important workforce for the low-carbon economy.
“The event is all about helping businesses do better business which is better for the planet, we provide them with the support they need to take action.
“We are now in our third year and have seen significant year-on-year growth, effectively doubling in size from last year. Coventry as a city is at the forefront of green technologies and that makes this the ideal location to grow the show.”
The Big Zero Show hopes to attract more than 2,250 visitors over the two-day event and will be utilising a wide range of space at Coventry Building Society Arena, including the main exhibition halls and lecture theatre.
Jenni Ford, Director of Sales and Marketing at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We’re proud to host this important event which is preparing businesses and individuals with vital knowledge and skills for the future.
“At the venue we are currently accelerating our own sustainability strategy and we know how important it is for businesses to gain expert advice. The Big Zero Show is set to continue its growth and we look forward to supporting that expansion.”
