Coventry Building Society Arena in the running for string of major awards

Coventry Building Society Arena is in the running for five major industry awards over the next month.

The venue has received national recognition after being shortlisted for awards at a trio of ceremonies.

The AEO (Association of Event Organisers) Excellence Awards will take place on 14 June and the venue has been named as finalist in the ‘Venue Of The Year Less Than 20,000sqm’ category.

If successful, it would be the second time Coventry Building Society Arena has won the award, having previously been named Venue of the Year in 2022.

At the Stadium Events & Hospitality Awards 2024, the stadium is on the shortlist for three awards, with the ceremony set to take place in Leeds on 4 July.

The awards recognise and raise the profile of the commitment of the matchday hospitality and specialist events teams at stadium venues across the UK.

Coventry Building Society Arena is on the final shortlist for the Operations Team of the Year Award, Matchday Hospitality Award – Large Stadium and the Overall Matchday Hospitality Award.

And the following day, the Arena team will be heading to London for The Conference and Events Awards.

The ceremony on 5 July at the HAC in London celebrates everyone involved in the events industry, with the venue named on the shortlist for the Sustainability Award for Venues.

Earlier this year, Coventry Building Society Arena was named a finalist in the Best UK Venue category at the EN Awards.

The venue also won a Green World Award for its sustainability practices within the hospitality sector.

Paul Michael, Managing Director at Coventry Building Society Arena, said: “We are continuing to deliver incredible events and results across our business.

“The awards give our teams a chance to reflect and celebrate their achievements and we’re looking forward to a busy month of ceremonies!

“To have been shortlisted for five awards, building on other shortlisting earlier this year, shows how we are continuing to thrive as a business.

“We are still in a period of change as a venue and striving to improve, which was reflected in the launch of our new brand identity earlier this year.

“We look forward to attending the ceremonies and celebrating the events, conference and exhibition sectors with colleagues from across the industry.”
